WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Jury selection will begin tomorrow in the trial between the Wilmington Housing Authority and former City Councilman Ronald Sparks. The Housing Authority is suing Sparks and his company for negligence and breach of contract following some work he did for them as an engineer.
Back in 2005, the housing authority hired Sparks Engineering to inspect Eastbrook Apartments on Princess Place. After the structural inspection, sparks recommended the property for purchase. After the purchase, though, residents complained about mold and moisture forcing the Housing Authority to evacuate the apartments, which still sit empty.
Today Sparks told us he's excited this day has finally come and is looking forward to the truth coming out in the next few days.
